Beta Reader Dating
Well, after my big 962-word day, Thursday was a total flop. I didn’t get anything else written after I had to re-type those 264 words in the morning. Yesterday wasn’t much better, 397 words, but I do have a little bit of an excuse.
Devon Monk decided to host a writer/beta reader matchup on her blog yesterday. Since I’m significantly lacking in critique partners other than family, I was quite interested. There were a lot of people joining in and it seemed to be quite a success. I’m in the process of talking to a few people now. Hopefully some good relationships will come out of it!
Speaking of relationships, several people remarked that it felt a lot like dating. I totally had the feeling that I was writing and responding to personal ads. But I suppose that’s pretty much what it was.
The Kid is with her dad until tomorrow, so I’m going to shoot for at least 2000 words this weekend. Hopefully more. Today’s writing music: Midori. Well, less music and more background ambience, I suppose.
